February 22, 2010

After all the hard work of the last year, the computers and software for the Scappoose High School Language Lab have arrived. The Foundation grant came to $9,500 – the largest single grant we've done so far.

The target for this year's fund-raising is the Warren Grade School Computer Lab. Maybe Technology is becoming more of our focus.

Some time has been spent working with the leadership of the Scappoose Parents' Association, who as a group are under the CFFSE umbrella. They contribute a share of their earnings to the Foundation, along with their primary purpose of providing scholarships for fees and school expenses to students.

Our Board has started discussion on what forms of fund raising we need to look at. The number of events we have been doing is too much for the small number of volunteers we have working at the District level.

We are starting the detail plans for the June 19th 2010 Cruise-In. This event has become a staple over the last five years, and is growing each year as word has gotten around of what we do and what it is for.

The Fall schedule is open for discussion. We will NOT be doing all the events we have done in the past few years.

We are on the lookout for new ideas and input. We need to act smarter and think bigger.

The quote I like in this context is generally credited to Albert Einstein: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
